What I'm Reading Wednesday

You Are Free by Rebekah Lyons is an easy read but packed full of honesty and truth.  Rebekah shares her own journey of struggling to really live a free life, the kind of freedom that God promises us.  Too often we strive for the acceptance and approval of others, which in turn drives us to do too much and too many things. If we are striving for the approval of others, that can cause us to be not who God created us to be.  Freedom come when we look to God for our approval and live according to what He desires for us.  We don't have to walk through the wilderness in order to gain freedom, we just have to believe God and believe who He says we are and freedom will flow from that.

I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

When God Made You by Matthew Paul Turner is a wonderful book for children about understanding who God created them to be.  It's whimsical, rhyming words fill the page and the beautiful illustration bring it to life.  The message of this easy-to-read picture book is one that every child needs to hear...God made them just the way He wanted them to be.  It's an encouraging book that promotes exploration into who God made them to be and to celebrate that.
