What I'm Reading Wednesday

Chase The Lion by Mark Batterson

My husband had read In A Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day several years ago and raved about it.  I was thrilled to get my hands on Chase the Lion, as it is a sequel to In A Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day.  The first book was inspired from 2 Samuel 23, where a warrior name Benaiah chases a lion into a pit on a snowy day.  Most people would never attempt this nor believe they could defeat a lion like Benaiah did.  The second book, Chase the Lion, encourage us to "chase the lion," or rather pursue God's dream for our life regardless of how scary or too big they may seem.  The author really stresses the point that a God-size dream will and should be beyond our ability or resources.  It requires us to put our full trust in God and rely on Him to provide for us.  This book is very thought-provoking and got me questioning..."Do I chase after God and His dreams for me or do I stay in my nice, comfortable place where there is no risk or of temptation of struggle?"  We all need to be challenged. We all need to step out of our comfort zone in order to really live as God has called us to!

I received this free book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinions.
