What I'm Reading & Watching Wednesday

Over 10 years ago I attended a women's conference called GodChicks, which founder Holly Wagner created to encourage and equip women.  Holly has written several books but Find Your Brave is her newest book.  This book is about real life situations that are not always easy and sometimes feel overwhelming, difficult and painful.  Holly is no stranger to the different storms we face in life, being a cancer survivor herself.  Throughout the book she looks at the story of Paul in Acts 27 where he is shipwrecked.  Along with her own personal stories, and that of the apostle Paul, she encourages the reader to put their faith, trust and security in God; the only to anchor in our life that will remain faithful to use amongst the storms we face.

A few things I thought were helpful about this book...
1.  Holly included scriptures that you could pray over your situation or even memorize.
2.  In the back of the book there are reflection questions that you could use yourself or with a group which I found to be really good.
3.  I love that she weaved Paul's story in Acts 27 throughout the book.  God's Word is so encouraging to us if we just read it!

I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinions.
The Memory Book is about a photographer who stumbles upon a photo book of a young couple from the early 1970s.  She has a hard time believing true love really exists and sets out to find the couple in the photo book.  She also sets out on a journey to find true love herself.

I thought the movie was entertaining and made for a good chick flick.   It is a pretty predictable love story, but I did like the fact that she set out to find out who the photo book belonged to and what happened to the people over the years.

I received this movie free from Fishflix in exchange for my honest review and opinion.
