Books About Sex for Kids

Navigating the waters of parenthood is definitely not easy!  I'm so thankful for the times when I can gather around the table with other moms and share ideas, experiences and resources that have been helpful for us.   I'm often asked about different resources I've used or am currently using with my kids.  Two topics of discussion that I've found helpful to have resources available to me are the topics of  sex and puberty.

Last summer, my daughter was ready for the talk about the birds & the bees.  One of the questions I get asked is, "How do you know when it's time to talk to them about sex?"  It's pretty simple, she was asking a lot of questions about how babies were made, how does it actually happen, etc.  I knew it was time and I ordered a set of book from Focus on the Family.

The Story of Me is for ages 3 to 5.
Before I Was Born is for ages 5 to 8.
What's the Big Deal? is for ages 8 to 11.
Facing the Facts is for ages 11 to 14.

I would highly recommend purchasing these!  We have currently read the first 2 books and they have been so helpful.  Talking about sex can be somewhat awkward, but these books help.  We have giggled a lot as we have talked about it, but I'm so thankful we have a very open relationship and can talk about anything!

Next week I will be sharing different resources on the topic of puberty!
