Supper Club

At the end of last summer, I read the book For the Love by Jen Hatmaker.  Needless to say, it was a great book!  Out of the book came the idea to start our own Supper Club.  My husband and I, were craving time where we could get together with other couples and enjoy adult conversation, food, and fun.  Let me tell you, it has been the best thing!  We sent an email to 3 other couples, all of whom did not know each other.   And guess what?  They were all in!

Here are the details I sent out about Supper Club.  Basically, I stole the idea from Jen's book and I also included some notes about what we have experienced so far...
1.  One night a month, rotating houses.  Our Supper Club picked Saturday night.
2.  No kids.   Can I get an Amen!  Get a babysitter, don't bring the kids.  It's so nice to not have kids around!
3.  When you host, do everything: plan, shop, cook, and clean.  So three out of the four months, just show up, eat amazing food, and enjoy wonderful company.   I broke out my fine china when I hosted!  It's fun to set and plan a meal just for adults!
4.  Food...keep it simple or make your favorite dish.  Whatever you like!  We've had a Fall-themed, Mexican-themed, Italian themed and an Asian-theme so far.  The food has been amazing!!!
5.  All anyone can bring to Supper Club is drinks, unless you are the host of course!
6.  Most of all, it's an evening to laugh, deepen our friendships, encourage one another and walk through life together.  Seriously, I come away from every evening with a huge smile and a belly that hurts from all the laughing!
7.  We ask that monthly attendance be a priority, but certainly understand if something comes up.  It's such an easy commitment to make and one we don't want to miss!

Let me encourage you, start a Supper Club!
Step out of your comfort zone.  Take the initiative.  Be bold.

You can do it!  You won't regret it!
