South Haven, MI...Blueberry Pickin'

One of my favorite activities we did on vacation was go blueberry pickin’.  We picked about 13 pounds of blueberries.  I think my daughter ate at least a pound of blueberry while we were there.  The entire time we were there, she ate all the blueberries she picked.DSC_0536

My little guy on the other hand, was a worker.  He picked and picked, and each blueberry landed in the bucket.  My kids are uniquely different in so many ways.  That day, I saw two qualities in both of them that I love.DSC_0599

My daughter, loves and enjoys food.  She is an amazing eater and has an appreciation for good food.  She tells me…”momma, you are the best cooker ever.”  Which totally melts my heart!  I told her that I’m going to teach her everything I know when it comes to cooking so that she can be the best cooker ever for her family one day.IMG_0990

My little guy is unique because he is a little work horse.  He loves to help and that day picking blueberries was no exception.  We spend a lot of time in the garden working together while my little lady isn’t interested in it and off playing.

I’m thankful that each one of my kids are unique.  I hope and pray that I can foster those things in their life that make them unique and celebrate their differences, because ultimately I want to help them discover the things that make them who God has called them to be.

If you visit South Haven, go pick some blueberries at DeGrandchamp Farms.
